Our Approach

Well, we start by walking up to the bar to greet you and find out if you would like to start with a drink.  Then we serve you the drink you order.  Kind of simple really.

Our Story

The story is on the first page  It was really good.  But if you missed it, here it is again.

How did this happen?

Reds Public House was the favorite drinking and dining destination for Jaymz Larson and his friends after a long morning on the radio (3 hours).

As most of you know, doing a Radio show is one of the hardest jobs there is to do.  Well, Jimmy and his pals loved going to REDS.  But in the past year, he notice a change and heard it was up for sale, "I didn't wake up one day and want to open a bar, but I was approached that the place was for sale and since I liked it so much, I jumped on it with some friends".

So the decision was made by yer old pal Jimmy to buy the place and take it over.  Now if there is anyone that knows how a bar is supposed to work it is Jaymz Larson, I mean, his bar tab alone has kept many bars in business for years.  Not saying he is an alcoholic by any means, but he does his fair share of socializing in these types of establishments.

The new style of the place has his career in mind with Rock n Roll memorabilia on the walls, the Heartland  Poker Tour and the Iowa Hawkeyes since Jaymz has been working television for the team for nearly 20 years.

We certainly hope that you enjoy the new look, food and service that you will get at Jimmy Z's on 2nd Street in Downtown Cedar Rapids.
